Η 19η Μαΐου αναγνωρίζεται από τις ποντιακές κοινότητες σε όλο τον κόσμο ως Ημέρα Μνήμης της Γενοκτονίας των Ποντίων. Είναι η ημέρα μνήμης των περίπου 353.000 Ποντίων Ελλήνων που εξοντώθηκαν συστηματικά μεταξύ 1914 και 1923, κατά τη διάρκεια της κατάρρευσης της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας και της ανόδου του τουρκικού εθνικιστικού κινήματος.

🕊️ Μια Ιστορία Επιβίωσης και Ταυτότητας

Οι Πόντιοι Έλληνες ζούσαν για χιλιάδες χρόνια στις νότιες ακτές του Εύξεινου Πόντου, σε μια περιοχή γνωστή ως Πόντος. Με βαθιές πολιτιστικές ρίζες, ξεχωριστή διάλεκτο και την ορθόδοξη πίστη τους, ανέπτυξαν μια μοναδική ταυτότητα.

Η γενοκτονία περιλάμβανε εκτοπίσεις, μαζικές εκτελέσεις και πορείες θανάτου. Η πιο βίαιη φάση ξεκίνησε στις 19 Μαΐου 1919, όταν ο Μουσταφά Κεμάλ Ατατούρκ αποβιβάστηκε στη Σαμψούντα — ημερομηνία που σηματοδοτεί και την έναρξη του Τουρκικού Πολέμου Ανεξαρτησίας.

Παρά την προσπάθεια εξαφάνισής τους, το ποντιακό πνεύμα επέζησε — μέσα από τη μνήμη, τη διασπορά και την πολιτιστική συνέχεια.

About a danger in park of paphos and. proposal for any park who WANT a lot more visitors.. = it is a Basketball court - without fence and.. besides a road without lights.. - big change to have accident . - there is a proposal to organize this park and make it OASIS of creation and sport tourism - if they want of course.
