Set more than a decade after the events of Avatar, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is now fully a member of the Na’vi tribe. Jake and his partner, Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), live happily in Pandora, but their world is about to flip upside down with the return of the RDA, and in particular, Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang). The Sully family flees their home and head to the reef people clan of Metkayina, where they learn the ways of the water.
Sigourney Weaver, who played Dr. Grace Augustine in Avatar, takes on the new role of Kiri, the adopted daughter of Jake and Neytiri. New cast members include Kate Winslet as Ronal, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, and Edie Falco as General Frances Ardmore.
Avatar: The Way of Water premieres in theaters on Dec. 16, 2022. Reviews have called the sequel a “stunning visual spectacle.” Will it be available on streaming?
