John Paxson
I took a small research on John Paxson's gm activity in the recent years (Chicago Bulls), wondering how he and his team cannot take the championship for ten years.
Derrick Rose is a very good player, athletic, scorer, young in age, full of appetite for work. If Paxson manages not to press hard on him ,he will help the team from year 1. Any way, we talk about NO1 draft. Sonny Weems is a very good investment for Paxson and Bulls. A player with 15 points in 31.4 minutes in NCAA is ready to offer and perhaps in 3 points but with bit of work and a lot of self esteem he can be even better. This choice by Paxson maybe proves better than Rose. Omar Asik, another chosen player, is a bet in my opinion. Paxson hopes to make even with the loss and bad estimate of Pau Gassol last year. I guess he has high hopes on Omar. The question is how much will the inexperienced Turk stand the pressure and the comparison with Gassol.
Another choise of Paxson is Gordon, a player with 18,6 points in 31,8 minutes per game. Of course he is one of the experienced scorers for the team, Paxson loves this players and he has a good reason to (good scorer, hard worker, good personality) but the disappointing last years play offs (terminated by Washington Wizzards), needed a 'victim' and the responsibility fell on Gordon (or this is how the player feels anyway). Thats why he refused the 58 million for 6 years and he accepted the 6 for 1 year. Paxson believes that this way he will have a Gordon that works his best in every game to make his next contract better and to prove he deserves more than 58 for 6 years.
Excellent moves are the contracts with Nichols and Deng. Deng is very good scorer, he helped a lot last year while Nichols with a bit more trust on him by the coach may prove gold.
Also, Paxson got 3 college ones, Elton Brown, Roger Powel and Darious Washington, i think a real lottery though... With cheap money, Paxson and his team hope to make something good and raise the teams overall value. I think these players have a lot of incentive and normally they will at least work hard.
One last note, Curry didnt have enough opportunities (probably due to bad discipline) last year, he was given over to Iowa Energy , he didnt satisfy Paxson, then he found himself in Europe (France) where he played good game (he must have had his reasons to).

Thank you for your overview on Chicago Bulls GM John Paxson. John had some great years and teammates when he was a member of the Chicago Bulls as a player. There is no doubt, with John Paxson at the helm as General Manager they will assemble a team the at some point contend for an NBA title. I'm very confident and certain of that. The bar was set very high during his days with Michael Jordan and his other teammates; so high that those championship titles became the standard by which future Chicago Bulls teams will be measured. Moreover, to have a player in the calibre of #1 6 ft 3in, 190 lbs point guard, Chicagoan Derrick Martell"Pooh" Rose was an outstanding pick up for the Bulls now and I predict for years to come.

Derrick Martell Rose (born October 4, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Chicago Bulls of thr National Basketball Association (NBA). A 6 foot 3 inch point guard who played one season of college basketball, Rose has been praised by peers and media as a standout NBA player.[2][3] His jersey is currently among the top ten sold in the 2008-09 season.[4]
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Rose won two state championships in high school and was rated by scouts as the top point guard prospect after his senior year. He decided to play basketball for the University of Memphis Tigers and reached the NCAA National Championship Game in 2008. Shortly after his freshman year ended, Rose declared for the 2008 NBA Draft and was selected first overall by his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls.[5]
